phantom moon

Version one

Coldly satanic is the phantom moon

whose hollow shell is the alien body

of a god who hatched and died too early.

A residual spectre whose time is law

and who rules in phases, the moon

drags and drains the earth, feeds off

the lonely, aching hearts of women,

the bloody thoughts of scheming men.

It is a vampire's hunger for life,

nourishment for the occult side

of its nature.

Version two

Coldly satanic is the phantom moon

whose hollow shell is the alien body

of a god who hatched and died too early.

A residual spectre whose time is law

and who rules in phases, the moon

drags and drains the earth, feeds off

the lonely, the aching hearts of women,

and bloody thoughts of men.

It is a hunger for life,

food for the O-mouthed one,

nourishment for the occult side

of its O-mouthed aspect.
