By Richard Mather
I am isn’t grounded
By your principle
Of sufficient reason.
There is no bedrock
On which I am turns its spade.
There is no ground
For I am’s laws and causes
Except other laws and causes
Similarly ungrounded.
There is no reason
Why I am endures
And no reason
Why it shouldn’t.
Necessity is conditional
And facts are contingent.
Every thought is a throw
Of the dice.
